Volunteers, interns and staff participate in multiple monitoring projects
at various tidal and non-tidal sites throughout the Maryland Reserve. Many
of these projects compliment both national and CBNERR-MD research efforts
such as the System Wide Monitoring Program (SWMP). Additional monitoring
projects include:
-
larval fish monitoring
-
fish seining, identification and tracking
-
monitoring reptiles and amphibians through "herp searches”
-
turtle telemetry and box turtle surveys
-
North American Amphibian Calling Surveys
-
Submerged Aquatic Vegetation Monitoring.
To find out about volunteer monitoring opportunities contact the CBNERR-MD
Stewardship Coordinator or the volunteer coordinators at the Jug Bay and
Otter Point Creek components.
