BPW Approves $419,760 in Program Open Space Funds for Washington County

On November 1, Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. announced that the Board of Public Works approved $419,760 in Program Open Space funds for five projects in Washington County. Martin L. Snook Park will receive $90,000 to upgrade the swimming pool and fencing at the softball field dugouts and $59,400 for the repair of the existing roadway. Hagerstown Fairgrounds Trail will receive $126,000 for the installation of in-ground lighting. Hagerstown Wheaton Park will receive $67,860 for the construction of a new ADA accessible restroom facility. Smithsburg Veterans Park will receive $76,500 for installation of new playground equipment and a storage shed for housing maintenance and recreational equipment.
