DNR Receives Tourism Award for Fishing Brochure
The Maryland Tourism Council recently awarded DNR a 2006 Cooperative Promotional Award for its brochure, Fish Maryland – The Middle & Upper Shore, created to promote the Upper Eastern Shore fisheries. This brochure offers a map detailing locations of a variety of fish species, identifies the months in which fish can be caught and highlights activities in each county that families of anglers may enjoy. The project was a joint effort between DNR, Maryland Office of Tourism Development, and the tourism offices of Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline and Talbot counties. DNR received the award at the 26th Annual Governor’s Tourism Industry Conference at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone. Brochures can be obtained at all five tourism offices, DNR and Maryland Welcome Centers.
