About Engineering & Construction

Cedarville drain repair

The Engineering and Construction Unit is responsible for the design and construction of capital improvements and critical and house maintenance projects at all Department of Natural Resources' facilities. Working with the diverse groups within DNR and a “get it done” attitude, we design and construct new facilities and help maintain existing ones. Projects are completed for DNR Parks, Forests, Wildlife, Fisheries and Natural Resources Police. Project locations are on DNR property located in every county of the State.

Typical critical maintenance projects include paving, roofing, window and door replacement, painting, plumbing, electric, HVAC, well/septic, storage tanks and demolition. New construction includes bathhouses, multipurpose buildings, bridges, and new access roads. Each project is tailored to the needs of the facility.

In order to accomplish this, DNR Engineering and Construction bids out numerous maintenance/construction projects every year. On this site you can find projects that are currently out for bid, bid results and the DNR Instructions to Bidders/General Conditions.

Types of Bids

$2,500-$25,000 projects are small procurement bids.
$25,000 - $50,000 projects are sealed bids.
