The Maryland Department of Natural Resources offers High School students many outdoor opportunities. Students can learn new skills or perform community services activities in Maryland's great outdoors.

DESCRIPTION:
A hands-on interdisciplinary competition for high school students focusing on forestry, soils, aquatics, wildlife, and current topics. DNR professionals serve as instructors with other resource professionals. Sponsored by the Natural Resource Conservation Service.

DESCRIPTION:
The Maryland Conservation Corps provides the youth and citizens of Maryland with opportunities for personal growth and experiential learning through community and environmental service. MCC's numerous crews reach across the state, learning and serving both summers and year-round. MCC's year-round crews are comprised of AmeriCorps members who dedicate themselves to conservation through activities like trail construction, stream surveys, plantings, and wetland restoration. In addition, these teams facilitate numerous environmental programs for classes, including "Trees in Schools", "Project WET", "Project WILD" and others.
