OUTDOOR DISCOVERY RESIDENTIAL SUMMER CAMPS 2008
“Where outdoor learning is naturally fun”OUTDOOR DISCOVERY CAMP “A GREAT WAY TO SPEND THE SUMMER”
Summer is just around the corner and that means it’s time to get outside and enjoy nature and the best way to do that is to register for the Maryland Park Service’s Outdoor Discovery Camp. Outdoor Discovery is a co-ed residential tent camp, which takes place in various Maryland State Parks. Outdoor Discovery provides Maryland’s youth the opportunity to learn about the environment and its natural resources through outdoor-based activities and games. The campers range from ages 8-17. The goal of the program is to inspire today’s youth to learn and care for the environment through outdoor adventure activities, environmental games and team building exercises.
We offer four sections of camp and a “Counselor-In-Training” program:
- Multi-Adventure I (ages 8-10)
- Multi-Adventure II (ages 10-12)
- Multi-Adventure III (ages 11-14)
- Multi-Adventure IV (ages 12-17)
- Counselor In Training (age 14-17) will help assist the counselors in Multi –Adventure I and II.
Camp descriptions and application information for Outdoor Discovery can be found at our web site http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/outdoordisc.html or by calling (410)-260-8154 or (410)-260-8175.
