volunteer is teaching from the class “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”

volunteer is looking at the bugs on the bugscope TEAM volunteers and their work are an inspiration to us all. Each trained volunteer delivers quality, hands-on presentations to students around the state. They come from diverse backgrounds, but all share a strong desire to give something back to Maryland students. Their efforts are helping to shape a new stewardship ethic among our young people.

Each volunteer attends an extensive training session. Training sessions cover our core programs and other environmental topics. Many sessions have a field component in which volunteers receive practical, hands-on experience. Volunteers will work in pairs in the classroom, and new volunteers are in training with experienced volunteers until they feel ready to teach on their own.
