Good Day Trout Fishing

Type: Freshwater
Region: North Central
Location: Owen's Creek and Friend's Creek

One of my last fishing trips of the year was on a nice day with close to 70F weather. I first stopped at Owen's Creek to try a couple of pools and caught a nice golden trout that I released after a short fight. After that I drew no strikes so I then drove up to Friend's Creek to catch some fish for dinner and found some willing trout in the deeper pools. These fish were good sized around 13" and put up a good fight. I caught two rainbows in the morning and one in the afternoon on streamer patterns. One rainbow jumped at least 6 times. The fish are in good shape and fat. There are still some trout left in the deeper pools. I tried my luck in the big rock pool and had a couple of follows from rainbow trout. Most of the deep pools should hold at least a couple of trout that may hold over through the winter if they are not caught. Hope there is at least one more 70F day in the forecast. Tight lines all.
