Susquehanna Hat-trick

Type: Tidal
Region: North Eastern
Location: Susquehanna River

I had a little time to fish yesterday but had no idea where to go. With only 9000 cfs of river flow catching walleye at the dam was not likely. 9000 cfs and tide half way out being too high to wade out at the mill using fly gear. I had fished the day before from the boat with fishzoo angler "Liquidaddicted" and saw a few rockfish caught near Lapidum so I considered trying from the rocks there. Unless others did amazing at those spots it seemed to be a good decision to pass them up, as the spot I chose gave up 11 rockfish and 1 walleye in an hour of fishing. I took home a "Susky Hat-trick" 2 rockfish and 1 walleye. Biggest being the 25 inch rockfish smallest the 18 inch walleye. Only 2 of the 11 rockfish were undersized. Despite the 46F water temp the fish were fiesty and aggressive. Loads of fun I hope to hit that spot again tomorrow. I used both my 8 wt with RIO Striper intermediate sink line and switched to the 5 with RIO Outbound intermediate sink around dark. Fished my usual patterns white punk and yellow punk. Water clarity was good 5-6 feet. Moon phase 51% of full.
