First Yellow Perch Outing in Tidal Waters in 2013
Type: Tidal
Region: Eastern
Location: Martinak State Park
Hearing rumors that fishermen have begun to catch yellow perch at Martinak State Park located on the Choptank River near Denton, MD the family decided to give it a try. Based upon what I had heard, we decided to fish minnows on the incoming tide. When we arrived the incoming tide had just begun. We did not catch any fish but we only fished for one hour. Regardless, it was an enjoyable time with the family, and when the wind stopped, the warmth of the sun hinted of spring's near arrival.
