Savage Mill Trout Fishing
Location: Northeast Community Park and Savage Mill
I was fishing at The Northeast Community Park on Saturday March 2, 2013 trying to catch some Yellow Perch during the Yellow Perch Appreciation Day. The Weather conditions were cold and blustery. I was using a Hildebrandt Spinner with a small minnow when this largemouth hit it instead. Although we didn't catch any yellow yerch, I was still glad to catch and release this nice fish!
Then on Sunday, March 3, 2013 my son Neil Villanueva and I fished for rainbow trout at Savage Mill in Howard County. With snow flurries and 31 degree temperatures when we set out in the morning, it felt more lika a January morning than one in March. We hiked up to one of our favorite spots and we were glad that we did. The trout seemed very hungry and we were able to get our 2 fish limit. We caught and released several more before going back home in time for breakfast. After a nice dinner of fried rainbow trout later in the afternoon, Neil and I went back and closed out our weekend with some more very good trout fishing action.
