Family Fishing on the Choptank

Type: Tidal
Region: Eastern
Location: Bill Burton Fishing Pier

My grandsons Ethan 10, Adam 7, their dad Joe all of Laurel, MD and myself decided to start the fishing season off with a trip to the Bill Burton Fishing Pier on the Choptank River. It was a great sunny day but the 15 to 20 mph constant breeze left us all a little windburned. We brought bloodworms, earthworms, shrimp, catfish chunks, chopped clams, chicken chunks and a chumbag filled with sardines, mackrell and tunafish in oil. We even tried casting lures, the total catch of the day was one 15inch Channel Catfish caught on a chicken chunk , and four 8 inch White Perch caught on worms. We were able to B-B-Q on Sunday and cook-em-up and enjoyed our catch.
