Liberty Reservoir Bass

Type: Freshwater
Region: Central
Location: Liberty Reservoir

Good morning... FINALLY got a chance to get out on Liberty last evening - high water and bad weather has been a huge obstacle this spring. Only had about 2 hours to fish but my daughter and I landed 1 smally, 6 largemouth, 3 white perch and one big sunny. Most were caught on Pop-R type topwaters. We lost several fish also. Bass were very sporatic - takes a lot of casting to keep the bite going. Strangely we saw very few beds. Last year on 05/25/10 I had my best day of the year on Liberty, landing numerous large and smallies over 4 pounds. The areas fished last year were littered with bass beds. This year - nothing. Water is high and lots of brush and trees in water so hit them with weedless worms - no weight - and topwaters. A fun couple hours!
