You can send in your crab harvest reports by text message from any cell phone.

The Department has developed a system that allows you to submit daily crab harvest information in a text message instead of in your log book. The text message is less than 60 characters.

You need to know:

  • You MUST send a text message EVERY DAY on days you do not crab you still send a text message of "DNF" (did not fish). There is also an option for reporting that you will not crab for an entire month.
  • Once you sign up, if you have not submitted a report by 5pm you will receive a text reminding you that you still need to report for that day.
  • When harvest information is received you will get a confirmation text letting you know the system has your information. If you text something incorrectly you will receive a message that the system "did not understand" your text. You will be able to correct the error and resend the message.
  • At the end of each month, if there are any days that we have not receive a text from you, you will be sent a letter letting you know which days were missed. You will need to submit harvest information for just the missed days on a log book report.
