Proposed Changes for 2006 Inland Fisheries Fishing Regulations


Please take this opportunity to let us know what you think of the Proposed Inland Fisheries Regulations and Discussion Item for 2006 for calendar year 2006. In addition to five Public Meetings to be held throughout the State of Maryland in April and May, interested persons no longer have to drive great distances to attend these meetings to personally comment on the proposed regulations.

In addition to the regulation proposals, Inland Fisheries is also considering restrictions on the use of live bait for the future and is including it as a discussion item for public comment. We would like to hear your views and opinions on the subject.

Public Comments Received as of 5/16/2005.  Public comment period on the proposed regulations is now closed. You may read the public comments made online.

Posted comments will not include the name or address of the person commenting. All comments will be made available at the five public meetings, if they are received prior to the meeting dates.

Public Meeting Locations and Dates

All public informational meetings will begin at 7 p.m. on the following dates at these locations:

  • Monday, April 25 at Greenbrier State Park Visitor’s Center, Route 40 in Washington County
  • Tuesday, April 26 at Frostburg State University, Cordt’s Physical Education Center, Leake Room, Frostburg, Allegany County
  • Wednesday, April 27 at Patapsco Valley State Park, Hollofield Headquarters, Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City, Howard County
  • Tuesday, May 3 at the Visitor’s Center of Cedarville Natural Resource Area, Cedarville, Prince George’s County
  • Thursday, May 5 at the Natural Resources Police Eastern Region Office - Area 2, Hillsboro, Queen Anne’s County. Take Route 404 east from Route 50, turn left on Route 309, office is on right.
