Community Parks and Playgrounds Program Solicits Applications
Last day to submit is Monday August 25, 2008

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is now accepting grant proposals for the Community Parks and Playgrounds Program (CP&P). These proposals will be reviewed and considered for submission to the Maryland General Assembly as part of the Governor’s FY2010 budget proposal.

Maryland’s CP&P is designed to enhance the livability of communities by creating, restoring or enhancing parks, playgrounds and other open spaces. For applications submitted for FY 2010 funding, applicants are encouraged to emphasize those projects that offer public benefits enhancing quality of life in existing population centers and demonstrating the use of low impact development techniques, materials and management.

These documents provide the details about the Program and how municipal corporations of the State and Baltimore City may apply for State funding assistance.

If you would like to apply for CP&P project assistance, please complete the items listed in: “Grant Proposal List”, “Community Parks and Playgrounds Project Agreement”, “Project Needs and Benefits” and “Supporting Documents.”

All application materials may also be accessed at http://www.dnr.state.md.us/land/pos/cpp_grantsprocess.asp. Please submit all required forms and attachments as directed by this package no later than August 25, 2008.
