Replacement Card Request

We do not issue replacement cards for courses taken online; only Maryland courses taken via classroom or virtual instruction are eligible for a replacement. If you've completed an online course and seek a replacement, see the direction noted at the bottom of the page.

(Boat MD Classroom/Virtual Course Only)

If you have previously taken and passed a Maryland Basic Boating course or the Maryland equivalency exam, you may request a replacement card.

All requests for replacement cards must be made online by completing a form, which can be found HERE. (click on the link contained within the word (“HERE").

There is no charge for this service. Please allow 2 weeks for the replacement card to be e-mailed to you (to the email address collected from the request form). It will be the card holder’s responsibility to print the replacement card or to display a digital copy if requested upon demand by a law enforcement officer. If you have taken the course in another state, you will have to contact that state agency to issue you a duplicate card. Maryland recognizes all other states' Boating Safety Education certificates as long as the course has been approved by NASBLA (National Association of State Boating Law Administrators).

If you have any questions or issues with submitting a request, please contact Tiffaney Palmatary (Administrative Aide for the NRP Safety Education & Outreach Unit) via email at: tiffaney.palmatary@maryland.gov.
