Hazards/Restrictions Anglers ages 16 and over need a Maryland Chesapeake Bay Sportfishing license. Be aware of upcoming storms, strong winds and large waves. Check the Maryland Chesapeake Bay Sportfishing Guide for current creel limits and size. Fishing is not allowed in the swimming beach area.
Potable Water Potable water is available at several locations inside the park.

Natural Features Sandy Point boasts some of the nicest beaches on the Chesapeake Bay. Lifeguards are present during the summer season. The Eastern Shore is quite visible and also provides an excellent viewing spot for watching various boats and races.
Historic/Cultural Features The park offers a spectacular view of the Bay Bridge.
Rentals/Service Rentals are available at the marina office. The office rents both rowboats and 16-ft. skiffs with six horsepower engines. Boats go quickly, so arrive early. The facility also provides 22 launches. You may contact the marina at 410-974-2772. A small launch fee is charged.
Camping Only youth group camping is available at Sandy Point State Park.

Fees or Permits An entrance fee is charged to enter the park. A valid Chesapeake Bay Sportfishing license is required for those over the age of 16. The marina sells fishing licenses. A fee is charged for boat launch.
Description This 786 acre day use park is one of the most popular state parks in Maryland. The park sometimes fills quickly on the weekend so plan to arrive early. There are also over seven miles of trails to explore and plenty of opportunities to view a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. This open park also offers playgrounds and picnic tables. Pavilions are available for rent.
