Saturday, March 8

11 a.m.
Creating an Owl. Join the Naturalist as we talk about the adaptations and secrets of owls. Meet one of our owls up close and then create your own. Develop nature journaling skills through observation and drawing or just come for fun.

2 p.m.
Slithering Snakes. Join the Naturalist to learn about the snakes that call Garrett County home and meet some of the snakes that live in the Discovery Center. Great for all ages! Free.

Sunday, March 9

11 a.m.
First Impressions. Some animals are born with a bad reputation. This interactive program shows that even creepy crawlies have their own important role in nature. Great for all ages!

2 p.m.
Aviary Encounter. Come to the aviary to get up close and personal with our birds of prey. Learn some interesting facts and watch them eat! Bring a camera because they will be perched for a great photo opportunity! Free.

Saturday, March 15

11 a.m.
Pine Cone Bird Feeders. Join the Naturalist as we watch the bird feeder to spot our flying friends eating a snack! We will also make your own bird feeder so you can watch the birds at your home! $2.00 per person service charge.

2 p.m.
Life in a Cave. Itís time to explore! Put on your head lamp and take a self-guided trip to the Discovery Centerís cave to search for cave dwelling creatures. Free.

Sunday, March 16

11 a.m.
Trackiní Through the Discovery Center. Join the Naturalist to learn about the animals in the area and the tracks they make. Then make some tracks of your own! (Part of this program will be outside if the weather permits.)

2 p.m.
An Original DUCKumentary. Join us in the Discovery Room to watch this Emmy winning PBS film that showcases many of the ducks that we see in Garrett County throughout the year. Great for all ages! Free.

Saturday, March 22

11 a.m.
Phenology Hike. Join us on a hike through the park to explore the first sights of spring! Great for all ages! Free.

2 p.m.

Friendís Delight and Store:

Donít forget to stop by our new site the Historic Friendís Store located on Sang Run Road. Turn off 219 at the WISP and stay on Sang Run Road until the river and you will find us there. The store will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00p.m. Step back in time with our penny candy, crafts and demonstrations. The store also offers cold drinks, ice cream, maple syrup, local jams and jellies.
