DNR InTRAnet: Our Government @ Work
Dear Colleagues –
As those of you who have worked with me in the past already know, I believe that a well-informed workforce is critical to everything we do, from moving forward on day to day tasks to accomplishing our collective mission.
Sharing knowledge and information at all levels, across all disciplines, is what will allow us to set priorities effectively, develop creative solutions and ultimately reach our goals. Understanding — not only of our individual areas of expertise, but also of our overall programs, budget, leadership strategies and the Governor’s vision — is the basis for assembling the tools we need to serve our citizens, to protect and manage our resources, and to rebuild our agency.
To ensure the most current, accurate information is available to you, we have added a new section to DNR’s InTRAnet: Our Government @ Work. At the top of our InTRAnet home page, you will now find links to news and data from the Governor’s office as well as from our own agency. Currently posted are links to the Administration’s Transition Reports, the StateStat presentation given by Governor O’Malley at last week’s cabinet meeting, and a copy of the BayStat Executive Order issued by the Governor on February 14.
I encourage you to make the DNR InTRAnet your home page, and to check it frequently for updates, with this cautionary note: In many cases, the information you will find needs to be considered within a specific context –- e.g., as referenced in my memo of last week, the transition report includes recommendations to the Governor, and is not a final action plan. Therefore, if you have any questions or concerns regarding the information you find, I urge you to consult with your supervisor or program manager for clarification.
Regards,
John
