Celebrate Green Week
Greetings!

As we move forward in our efforts to create a more sustainable Maryland and a more sustainable agency, I am constantly inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of our staff.

To highlight some of these efforts and to take another step toward becoming more sustainable, DNR’s Office for a Sustainable Future is pleased to announce our first annual Green Week, April 14-18, and to host another first — a Green Fair — on April 17.

Next week will provide numerous opportunities for all of us — and our colleagues from other state agencies — to learn first hand about some of the exciting new things we’re doing, and to learn more about the personal steps we can each take to lighten our environmental footprint.

A team of our DNR staff from across the department has been working diligently to create a full schedule of fun, informative and motivating events. I hope you will join me and the other members of our leadership team in attending as many events as your schedule permits and participating in the Green Commuting Challenge.

And don’t forget to join us in the Garden on Thursday, April 17 for music, food, demonstrations and a special series of raffles to boost our collective Maryland Charity Campaign contribution.
