Long Term Water Quality Monitoring

Long Term Water Quality Monitoring has occurred at 54 locations on major (4th order and larger) non-tidal portion of Maryland's rivers since 1976. Sampling at these stations provides the data to determine trends in water quality constituents commonly associated with urban and agricultural land -use. These data are provided to the US EPA's data repository, STORET, and are available from the EPA Chesapeake Bay Program at www.chesapeakebay.net

C/T QAPP File The ambient fixed station water quality monitoring program is used primarily to determine trends in water use areas, problem areas, land use areas and in areas where future development may impact water quality.Water quality data collected by this fixed station network are incorporated into the 305 (b) reporting process.
