Growing Up WILD is an interdisciplinary early childhood education program that builds on children's sense of wonder about nature, inviting them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Growing Up WILD has been aligned with Common Core (K-2), Head Start domains, and Maryland Environmental Literacy standards.

Throughout the workshop, participants will go through various activities in the Growing Up WILD guide and will learn about ways to connect young children to nature. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will receive the Growing Up WILD curriculum book.

Fee: $5

Audience: Educators, daycare providers, community leaders, etc who work with children aged 3-7

Flying WILD

Through activities involving language arts, social science and math experiences, coupled with community outreach and service learning applications, Flying WILD offers a whole-school approach to environmental education using birds as the focus.

Targeted for upper elementary and middle-school audiences, though widely adaptable, Flying WILD offers practical hands-on classroom and outdoor field investigation experiences connecting real-world experiences in bird biology, conservation and natural history. Project-based classroom applications, service learning and community involvement are encouraged through sections of the guide dedicated to the planning and implementation of birding festivals. Project WILD, Project WET, and Project Learning Tree Facilitator Workshop

Are you interested in leading your own Project WILD, Project WET and/or Project Learning Tree workshops to train other educators? To become a volunteer Maryland facilitator, you must have participated in the 6 hour educator workshop for each of the projects in which you want to become a facilitator. Verification will be required, and a pre-workshop "homework" assignment will be given. You may be certified in one, two or three of the available workshops.

Please be sure to bring your books to the training and bring your own lunch. Snacks and materials will be provided. For more information on roles of a facilitator, click here.

Fee: FREE!

Audience: Anyone who has taken the educator training workshop and would like to learn how to facilitate their own educator workshops. Please note this is a volunteer position.
