We want to provide you with the latest information learned as we collect and analyze the satellite data for the marked pintails. We will post information weekly, or as the data become available. These maps will show current locations for all of the marked pintails captured in Virginia, as well as those originating in the other states. Narratives describe where the birds are located and other general information. Check back often to travel with the pintails through the seasons.

That crazy pintail from VA that was on the west side of James Bay
last week has now decided to head for northern Province of Quebec.
No signal from 44673, suspected dead the previous week.

Bird 44673 from VA (sitting in Saskatchewan; black line) is probably dead.
Haven't received a signal from her since the 14th, plus there was only
a very small change in activity codes between signals on the and the 14th.

The wacky bird from VA that went from ND to ON to MN -
she now is continuing westward back towards ND.

Apparently VA pintail 44675 can't make up her mind where she wants to be.
She was in northern ND from 4/4-4/20. On the 25th she was in northern ON.
As of Saturday (the 1st)....she was in MN.
